Uncomfort is showering naked with strangers within the first hour of arriving in a new country. It is stripping down and jumping in freely with your sister and her boyfriend in icy glacier lakes throughout the mountains. It is expressing your thoughts and feelings even when you are unsure the outcome will be in your favor. It is getting out of bed to run in the cold air when all you want to do is stay bundled in your warm bed. It is asking for what you want. It is choosing a hiking trail way out of your league because the reward in the end is worth every second of pain. It is doing what you want for yourself, without letting limitations of others opinions leak into your mind. Comfort is everything I long for and uncomfortable is everything that makes me grow and expands who I am🌞

What does it feel like to #getyourassintonature?

It is humbling, quiets the voices in your mind that tell you who you should be, what you should look like, what you need to be doing. It brings you back to the beginning, to the very basics and importance in life. You are free from standards as you allow your body to be exposed, back with the Earth, to harmonize in peace for a few moments. We all need this humbling experience.

What is your favorite part about #getyourassintonature?

The community- bringing people of all different backgrounds, upbringings, beliefs and ages to unite for one thing we can all stand for together. The support we get online from strangers helps show how much love there is to give if we are vulnerable enough to let ourselves feel it.

What does adventure mean to you?

Adventure means purposely choosing a path where the outcome is unknown and pursuing all the ups, downs, feelings and experiences along with it, with full confidence.

How do you exhibit courage when you #getyourassintonature?

Exhibiting courage is being a leader and showing to others that if I can do it, they can too, even when I am scared and not sure if I want to, or if I can. I do not want to strip down and expose myself and be uncomfortable, cold and wet and glacier lakes, but if I can have the courage to do it, then my sister and her boyfriend can too, and as a whole we have all grown and overcome something we were once scared of- that’s empowering- one step at a time.
