What does it feel like to #getyourassintonature?

The earth reaches up to hold me
and touch its toes
Sunlight streaks towards me
Turning my skin brown honey
brown sugar.
fill me up with wild plums
Wait for them to grow brown honey
brown sugar,
A little rotten, a little sweet

I want to brush on the bounties of the earth
And Live NAKED ALWAYS,
Let the gentle breeze
Breathe for me
Fill my lungs with wilted lilies and
Rotting plums

I want to be swallowed up by this place
Rest safely softly between roots
Grow green, shoot up like grass
Alive and buried

At least my feet will grow hard and cracked
By meeting the earth and becoming its friend
May it feel like growing roots
May they never touch
Anything except for dirt and grass

When i grow up I’ll be a child
When I grow up I’ll climb this tree
And live there
Touch my toes
And wait for the tree to do the same.

What is your favorite part about #getyourassintonature?

letting parts of my body that don’t usually get to experience touching sand, dirt, water, wind–touch and experience all of the above !

What does adventure mean to you?

adventure is that feeling you get when your heart is pounding and your breath comes quicker and your eyes get brighter and your blood boils and your sense of time is locked in the present. You look around and realize there’s nowhere else you’d rather be. You look around and want to cry because it’s so beautiful. You look around and breathe in and out and in and run and jump and fall and love and hurt and live. Adventure is just living life, living it to the fullest.

How do you exhibit courage when you #getyourassintonature?

#getyourassintonature is the pure acceptance and vulnerability of offering a scarred, broken body to the beautiful earth–the courage to express freedom in survival, nakedness, in recognizing your own scarred, broken, beautiful body, as sacred.
